Now he&#8217;s gone a step further by saying that it won&#8217;t be long<br \/>\nbefore Windows 10 becomes a simple emulation layer on top the Linux<br \/>\nkernel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Raymond, <a class=\"has-text-color\" href=\"https:\/\/mindquest.io\/en\/blog\/news\/1150\/a-microsoft-technologies-careers-guide\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft&#8217;s <\/a>latest investments in the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) reveal that the Redmond, Virginia company might be quite aware of this impending shift. The company also has recently unveiled a Linux version of Edge for IT pros to test websites.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>But there&#8217;s more: the Windows emulation might ultimately disappear altogether, leaving us with a Microsoft shell that is basically all built on Linux. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/open-sources-eric-raymond-windows-10-will-soon-be-just-an-emulation-layer-on-linux-kernel\/\" target=\"_blank\">ZDNet<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2><strong>AI: behind the screens<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Despite the media buzz around AI, it can be<br \/>\ndifficult for someone who is not immersed in the technology to precisely tell<br \/>\nyou how and where it is being applied.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Well, this<br \/>\nweek we got a behind-the-screens look at what developers are doing in both the<br \/>\npublic and the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>The city of Amsterdam debuted <a href=\"https:\/\/algoritmes.overheid.nl\/nl\/organisatie\/gm0363\/gemeente-amsterdam\" target=\"_blank\">the Algorithm Register<\/a>, a portal where everyone can learn more about the various AI initiatives being implemented across the city.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Also, Alexa developers unveiled how they get Amazon&#8217;s smart home assistant to interpret what users mean rather than what they say. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techrepublic.com\/videos\/amazon-alexa-how-developers-use-ai-to-help-alexa-understand-what-you-mean-and-not-what-you-say\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here&#8217;s more<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2><strong>The pandemic and S\/4HANA implementation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"has-text-color\" href=\"https:\/\/mindquest.io\/en\/blog\/news\/621\/the-ultimate-s4hana-careers-guide\" target=\"_blank\">S4HANA<\/a> implementation was ramping up before COVID-19 hit the global business community. Now, as uncertainty piles up, some organisations might consider postponing their migration to SAP&#8217;s next-gen ERP until things settle down a bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But should<br \/>\nthey?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with TechTarget, <a class=\"has-text-color\" href=\"https:\/\/mindquest.io\/en\/blog\/news\/621\/the-ultimate-s4hana-careers-guide\" target=\"_blank\">S\/4 experts<\/a> recommend taking advantage of the current disruption.
