New and upgraded features are rolled out twice per year in two phases: wave 1 (April \u2013 September) and wave 2 (October-March). <\/p>\n<p>The company published <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/\" target=\"_blank\">the 2020 wave 1 plan<\/a> last month, with deployment set to begin on April 1st. Some of these features, like UX improvements, will be automatically enabled for end users during April. We suggest you review the full list of updates if you haven\u2019t done so yet and assess ; whether or not a heads-up to those affected is in order. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, customers and partners can explore <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/features-ready-early-access\">a host of early<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/features-ready-early-access\" target=\"_blank\">&#8211;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/features-ready-early-access\">access features<\/a> in a non-production, sandbox environment. It\u2019s always recommended to test these new functionalities ahead of deployment to ensure they run properly within your ecosystem. Early access also offers a great opportunity to revise business and reporting processes to see how the new tools can help optimise workflows. <\/p>\n<p>We have gone through the <a href=\"https:\/\/download.microsoft.com\/download\/b\/2\/3\/b237eb80-edef-4c41-a53c-4d06fe12d84a\/dynamics365-2020-release-wave-1-plan.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">official documentation<\/a> and highlighted a few features for you and your staff. Delivering more dynamic and content-rich messages is now easier thanks to new <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-marketing\/ability-test-send-dynamic-email-messages\" target=\"_blank\">test-sending<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-marketing\/improved-email-content-designer\" target=\"_blank\">content design<\/a> capabilities. <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-marketing\/improved-customer-journey-experience\" target=\"_blank\">Smarter customer journey management<\/a> allows users to set time-sensitive automated emails to expire at a given time. While <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-marketing\/improved-segment-design-management\" target=\"_blank\">defining segments<\/a> is now quicker and more intuitive.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, marketers can now <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-marketing\/export-data-excel-further-analysis\" target=\"_blank\">export customer data and results reports to Excel<\/a> for further manipulation and analysis. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2><strong>Sales forecasting<br \/>\nand smoother user experience <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To facilitate the creation of bottom-up sales forecasts that help managers goal progress; Microsoft is introducing <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-sales\/customize-forecast-models\" target=\"_blank\">new model customization capabilities<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-sales\/improve-adjust-forecast-accuracy\" target=\"_blank\">increased forecast accuracy<\/a>. End users will also enjoy a more seamless user experience, with <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-sales\/easier-selection-email-templates\">easier email template selection<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-sales\/planned-features\" target=\"_blank\">faster product-to-opportunity matchmaking<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Good news for administrators! You\u2019ll finally be able to explore feature settings and configure the Sales Hub application <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-sales\/manage-feature-settings-configure-sales-hub-application-centralized-location\" target=\"_blank\">from a single location<\/a>. Additionally, technician <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-field-service\/integrated-technician-time-tracking\" target=\"_blank\">time tracking entries<\/a> are being integrated into the platform for enhanced visibility.<\/p>\n<p>In yet another push towards operational efficiency, Microsoft is also expanding IoT capabilities for Supply Chain Management. You can now <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/previous-versions\/dynamics365-release-plan\/2020wave1\/dynamics365-supply-chain-management\/iot-intelligence-core-insights\" target=\"_blank\">set up notifications and relevant actions<\/a> for users to take during order delays.
